I frequent the Old Fisherman regulary and the I have never had a bad meal in there... I would recommend this pub to people who have good knowledge of food and appreciate a good meal. Yes the food is expensive in comparrison to some of the local breweried pubs ie Mitchells & Butler, Greene King etc, but the menu is bespoke and the meals are prepared fresh, not boiled in a bag or straight out of a plastic container.. you pay for quality not quantity.
As for the comment below re the plastic basket, as stated on the menus at the Old Fisherman, if you eat outside then the food is served in a basket!
I would recommend a visit to the Old Fisherman if you want good quality food, served in a delightful setting. Enjoy!
